The Hollow is an acre of land just a two minute walk upstream from the Sundance Resort. It was hand picked by Hank Stewart himself when his family homesteaded the canyon in the early 1900’s. It sits on the stream where Hank designed ponds and cascading waterfalls creating the ideal backdrop for any occasion. If you are looking for a memorable venue you need look no further.

Exploring nature on foot is primordal in origin and essence. At Sundance you’ll find over 10 miles of mountain trails. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert hiker, there’s a trail that’s just right for you. Ride the chair lift up and pace yourself walking down. Or challenge yourself on a hike to the summit and then ride down.

We give you our recommended guides that have been fishing the Provo River almost their entire lives. The Provo River is calling. High Country Rafting offers guided or unguided trips every day except Sundays. Float down the river on a tube, raft, kayak, or stand-up paddle-board. Sundance is a mountain bikers paradise. Combine killer scenery with 25 miles of single-track bike paths, and you’ve got near perfect conditions for the supreme experience. Ride up or down 1200 vertical lift-accessible feet of trail from Ray’s Base to Ray’s Summit. Rent a full-suspension mountain bike or bring your own. Guided bike tours and instruction are available. There’s no better way to experience the essence of the Wasatch Mountains than from the back of a horse. Weave through stands of pines and groves of aspens as you ride over ridges with spectacular views you will never forget. For 26 years, the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival has hosted storytellers from around the nation and across the waters to join some of the homegrown talent here in Utah and share stories under our own majestic Mount Timpanogos. Stories range from fairy tales and fables from various cultures to personal stories of growing up in the Appalachian Mountains. There are historical tellers, tall tale tellers, and youth tellers.

The Sundance Resort offers one of the most unique experiences on a ziptour than any we have seen. If dropping over 2,100 ft over 2 miles of cable while soaring 500 feet off the ground isn’t for you we have other options. But for the adventure seeker this is as good as it gets.

Stand up paddle boards (SUP) offer a fun, relaxing way to play on the water. With a minimum of gear, you can paddle ocean surf or placid lakes and rivers. Learn the basics here on the lakes and perfect your technique so you’ll be ready for your next ocean adventure.

Paddle boarding delivers a full-body workout and thus has become a popular cross-training activity and can be enjoyed by all ages and abilities.

Nearby Deer Creek Reservoir is a great place to rent a wave runner or boat for some water fun during the summer.

Located just 30 miles from Sundance, Jordanelle State Park offers an array of outdoor recreational activities. A great day trip might include picnicking, fishing, boating, water sports, swimming, hiking and mountain biking.

The Utah State Scenic Highway 92, on which Sundance is located (also locally called “The Alpine Loop”) is a fantastic drive through spectacular scenery with great mountain views. The road is open from approximately May 1 to November 1, weather permitting. Allow about 1 -1 ½ hours to drive the entire loop from Sundance.

Come explore these 3 dazzlingly decorated caverns. You’ll have to hike about 1.5 miles up to the cave entrance, but the caves are worth the climb. You’ll see helictite and anthodite formations, and a knock-your-socks off view of the American Fork Canyon.

Reservations are required as they do sell out often especially weekends and holidays. Tickets can be purchased online in advance.

Cascade Springs is a refreshing oasis of lush vegetation, inviting pools, and cascading waterfalls located within a 20 minute drive from the Sundance Resort continuing up SR-92. About three miles from the Forest Ranger booth where you buy your pass, turn right onto the Cascade Springs Scenic Drive and continue for another seven miles to the spring’s trailhead. Water from the springs flows over a series of travertine terraces and pools and eventually continues on its way to nearby Provo River.

If you are of the daring type, you may want to take a joyride on one of Midway Adventure’s ATVs or Razors. They offer both Self Guided and Guided tours, with trails spanning across the Wasatch Mountain. One can drive to Silver Lake for a picnic, or travel the Alpine Loop.

Looking to mix beautiful scenery with a little exercise? Maybe you would enjoy a breathtaking bike ride. You are lucky to be in the area you are, as there are many options for bike rentals and trails. You can choose between road bikes, mountain bikes, or even eBikes! With such options of trails, one can spend the whole day biking if one wishes.
